Movement Matters unites the worlds of sports medicine and personal training to eliminate pain and restore quality of life. We help people who are sick and tired of taking pain pills, receiving excruciating injections, and living in fear of surgery.
- We specialize in treating lower back pain and arthritis, the primary orthopedic handcuffs.
- Our strategy is unique in that we do not address the site (the “where”) of pain – we attack the source (the “why”) of pain.
- Our 1-on-1, hands-on environment allows for truly personalized, targeted treatment experience. We believe in getting to know you, so that we can understand how physical activity plays a role in your life, and make sure we get you back to the things you love.
Our patients have a high-level success due to our unique philosophy that unites the worlds of sports medicine and personal training. Through a combination of deep muscle stimulation, manual therapy, and movement reeducation we bring living back to your life.
We tailor our treatment toward your individual needs and desires. This will optimize your outcomes and satisfaction levels. We are passionate about protecting you from the dangers of pills, injections, and surgery. At Movement Matters, you will be treated like a human being, not a billing code.
Our primary focus is getting you back to doing what you love. Rest and avoiding activities you enjoy is not a competent plan of care, no matter what your doctor has told you.

What We Stand For:
Movement Matters stands up against the one-size-fits-all physical therapy clinics that are more concerned about reimbursement from insurance companies than the restoration of function.
The general public idea of “Pain management” in its current forms (pills, injections, and surgery) is even more detrimental. Pain management can be a wonderful relief when it is applied to the right situation for the right amount of time. Unfortunately, these treatments are mistaken for a solution, which is a dangerous misunderstanding that has now become an epidemic.
Pain management does a good job of masking the pain itself, but that doesn’t eliminate the mechanical stress that is causing pain. If you do not eliminate the stress, the body will keep producing pain to alert you that something is wrong, and the problem gets worse as it goes untreated. Pain is actually important – it’s your body’s request for change. Pain pills and injections silence the call, which is not a long term solution.

SOFT TISSUE MOBILIZATION
Through the demands of activities of daily living and previous injury, our muscles become stiff, dense, and fibrotic. This disables them from absorbing and adapting to stress, which in its simplest form is movement. This means your once favorite activities become insurmountable tasks.Soft tissue mobilization allows for rehydration, increased blood flow, increased temperature and elimination of adhesions in all the tissues (muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia, etc) of the body. This means that you will once again be able to be more water-like, and less solid-like.
Muscles attach to bones, and bones meet together to create joints. Once we can restore function to the muscles we focus on reorienting the joints. Just like any other structure if a joint is out of alignment (think a poorly positioned door hinge) pain and dysfunction will occur. We will NOT address the joint(s) that hurt, we will look at the joint(s) that are causing the pain, aka address the "why" not the "where".
This is the final and most important pillar of our recovery process. Through the previous strategies, we eliminate the restrictions suppressing your movement quality, now we can enhance said quality. We perfect fundamental movements of daily living; squatting, lunging, hinging, pushing, pulling, carrying, and rotating. These are all essential to alleviate your pain and operate at your highest level. Walking, running, golfing, and playing with your kids and/or grandkids are right within reach.

Pain is not the problem.
Stop wasting time and money on expensive duct-tape medicine.
Pain relief is a temporary treatment that is being misrepresented as a long-term solution – but the problem is, this “solution” doesn’t address the real problem at all.
Our goal is to heal the problem at its source and help you get back to the activities you love.
WHAT WARWICK THINKS ABOUT MOVEMENT MATTERS
Back on June 10th, I extolled the virtues of Nick Clark, and posted that he might be a miracle worker. Well, I can now say for certain that HE IS! After four treatments, I no longer have pain in my hamstring, my running stride has not only lengthened, but it has returned to its normal symmetry, and I am training at close to my normal pace and mileage again!
I first came to Nick several months ago after almost two years of 3 physical therapists, 2 chiropractors, a massage therapist, a pain management doctor, and a back pain specialty doctor. These doctors and specialists had me trying pain pills, exercises, several muscular injections, and several spinal epidurals all to treat the symptom.
OK…this may be a tad lengthy, so apologies up front! Nick Clark’s protocol WORKS! It surely has worked amazingly for me; I’m so grateful for the referral I received to go for an initial evaluation.
Movement Matters has seriously saved my life. I have learned safe, proper movements and without even an aspirin, I can live my life and do what I love.
I found Nick while doing physical therapy, and trusted I could work out in a safe way with his guidance. I was amazed at how the simplest of movements could have such a big impact. My back improved drastically. Unfortunately, I started to have shoulder mobility issues out of nowhere, which slowed me down with movement, but Nick was there for the rescue for that as well. He attacked the problem from the root cause. It’s like he is my personal body mechanic! When the parts go, he fixes them. I never thought I would get back the range of motion in my shoulders, but with Nicks hard work and determination, I got there. He will do whatever it takes to get the result, which is one of the things I admire most about him. He puts a lot of effort and thought into everything he does. Nick is a priority in my very busy schedule. I truly believe this is the best investment in my future, and I am grateful for the opportunity. Thank you Nick.
Nick is great to work with. He knows his stuff. I’m consistently impressed with his knowledge of the most efficient and effective ways to move properly to reduce pain and stress in the body.
